Program Design

I work with donors to design funding programs for maximum impact, striving to match your values, resources, and interest to the partners best able to advance your strategy.  We'll think about the larger contexts in which issues arise; the benefits of well-established organizations versus startups; what might be accomplished in the short, medium and long terms; identify opportunities where smaller amounts can make a difference or where larger contributions will be needed; and assess your interest in options including organizational development, coalition building, leadership development and issues framing, all of which will help us create an excellent plan together.

Landscape Analysis

Where is your support most needed and where will it do the most good?  We tailor analyses that engage our extensive and diverse network of colleagues in philanthropy, the non-profit sector, academia and business to help us answer your questions and position your giving to make the greatest possible impact.

Program Implementation

Once we've designed a program together, we can also help make it happen.  We identify organizations, evaluate their performance and potential fit with your values and goals, solicit proposals, conduct interviews, do site visits, examine budgets and financial documentation, write recommendations and ensure that all legal requirements are met. 

Assessment/Evaluation

The criteria for judging whether a particular grant is furthering your goals will be baked in to your program design.  We will help you measure progress and work with grantees to help them succeed.
